Seder Meal

Christian Passover Seder Meal on Holy Thursday On Maundy Thursday Riverpoint will host a Seder Meal. Seder is the traditional Passover Week Dinner celebrated by the Hebrews since the Exodus and the dinner Jesus was attending that we call The Last Supper, hosted by Him for his disciples. It is the Hebrew Thanksgiving, giving thanks to God for deliverance and redemption. Elements of the meal include:

Lamb - the word "pesach" applies to the Lamb of sacrifice as well as to the deliverance from Egypt and the feast itself.

Unleavened bread - matzoh - that recalls the unleavened bread that the Israelites prepared for their hasty nighttime flight from Egypt.

Bitter herbs - remind us of the bitterness of slavery and suffering in Egypt Green herbs to be dipped in salt water to represent the tears of sorrow shed during the captivity of the Lord's people.

Haroseth represents the mortar used by Jews in building walls, palaces and pyramids for Egyptians during their slavery.

The Seder will begin at 5:30 PM followed by the Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 PM, April 1st. The meal will consist of roast lamb, spinach, celery, rice seasoned with herbs, ratatouille, matzoh and haroset with date haroset and macaroons for dessert.To reserve a seat for the Seder Meal please call the church ( 401-826-3150) and leave a message with your name and the name of anyone attending with you or click on contact us on our website and send a message to the "events" address. We will be accepting a free will donation to cover the cost of the meal.

Easter Sunday Services

Easter Sunrise Service will be held April 4, 2010 at 6:30 AM in St. Joseph's cemetery on Gough Ave. The service is open to the public and a great way to welcome Easter morning. Easter service will also be held at the church at 10:00 AM for those who wish to sleep in.
